Recipients of the 9 Skills Factory lean six sigma yellow belt qualification possess the knowledge, capability and tools to remove / reduce waste in their day to day work processes.
They have the ability to recognise where waste and unnecessary activity exists in their processes and apply a number of core lean tools to address that waste.

Attainment Criteria
TRAINING - Complete the two part lean six sigma yellow belt training course.
APPLICATION - Apply a minimum of one core lean tool to their own work process.
ASSESSMENT -Successfully pass an online self paced exam, and provide evidence of their competency in removing waste from a work process using lean.
Competencies Demonstrated
Candidates holding this qualification, have successfully demonstrated the following core competencies:
  • Ability to accurately describe the types of problems the different methodologies of business improvement address in a value stream
  • Demonstrate understanding of the difference between Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Demonstrate basic working knowledge of the DMAIC project management process
  • Identify the existence of the 7 different types of process waste in their work
  • Create value adding efficiencies in the workplace using practical improvement tools from the Lean Six Sigma toolbox
